International Essay Contest for Young Researchers 2022 "European Security System: New Realities in the Changing World"
Submission Details and Requirements:
- University students, postgraduates as well as young professionals who are interested in international politics and security policy;
- Age up to 30 years (inclusive) at the time of application;
- Citizens of the Russian Federation, Central and Eastern European Countries and Central Asia
You are invited to submit an analytical work / essay on the topic:
“European Security System: New Realities in the Changing World”
(1000-1200 words, in Russian or English, Word, Arial / Times New Roman, text size 14).
The essay may include:
- A general overview of the issues to shape the contemporary European security architecture, the interests of the main actors, encompassing international organisations, alliances and particular states;
- Analysis of a variety of factors affecting security (economic, socio-humanitarian, political, military, technological, communication, etc. factors) as well as topical issues on the current agenda (e.g. climate change and decarbonisation, rise of radical nationalism, anti-Semitism, radical religious movements, populism in politics and shifting of values, identity seeking, and so on);
- A research on specific subjects and projects in terms of European security issues, elaborating in detail on certain territories of the OSCE space and partner states;
- A personal vision of anticipatory concepts preventing threats to security at international and regional levels.
